Content information
In the course we will discuss relevant theoretical foundations on transculturality, diversity and intercultural communication. We will focus on the following issues:
What is transculturality and diversity? What impact do globalization and transnational migration have on the identity-building processes of young people? What is the role of migration policies for the sense of belonging of immigrants? The course also addresses relevant aspects of communication in transcultural contacts and identifies challenges for successful cross-cultural communication. In addition to the discussion about different models and theories we will practice interactions- and sensitivity trainings for improving skills of diversity awareness and cross-cultural competencies.
